Georgia-born songwriter producer and actor who found respite from a lot of guilt and shame in Los Angeles. I felt like such a misfit in the South. So I left. I found a little apartment in East Hollywood. Suddenly everybody wanted to hear my story. Because suddenly, it was all of our stories.
I started writing and playing and ended up working a ton with Miranda Lambert, some with Dierks Bentley, Keith Urban, Emily West, Keith Gattis, Waylon Payne. I was in Brooks & Dunn and Reba’s band, wrote music for film and TV projects from Justin Timberlake’s Alphadog to Emily Blunt’s The Girl On The Train and like a million TV shows. (Yes, Duck Dynasty . Yes, Sixteen and Pregnant . Stop asking.) I’ve been in movies and TV shows and written country hits (Heart Like Mine, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Bring Me Down, Famous In A Small Town, etc). Even been written about in someone’s autobiography (My Trip Down The Pink Carpet – Leslie Jordan. I recommend starting on page 86). And there is not one man standing more grateful than me for the adventure I’ve been allowed to live.
My EP came out in January, called City & Western and it’s badass. It's about finding new ground for your roots. Right now I’m producing a couple of great artists and working as actor and musician in the new FOX series Filthy Rich , coming in the fall.
