Buddy Owens

Buddy Owens is an award winning American country music singer and songwriter signed to Sony Canada and Cache Entertainment. He was born in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, and raised in Owasso, Oklahoma. After being offered scholarships to various universities, Owens instead decided to move to
Nashville to pursue his dreams of playing music.

After catching the ear of renowned producer Phil O’Donnell, Owens signed a publishing deal with Anchor Down and has since written with some of
Nashville’s premier writers, including: Shane McAnally, Eric Paslay, Monty Holmes, Sunny Sweeney, Kiefer Thompson (of Thompson Square), Mark D.
Sanders, Phillip White, Larry Gatlin, Kerry and Kurt Phillips.

Owens is best known for co-writing “Red River Blue,” performed by Blake Shelton on his platinum-selling album by the same name, but also penned
Craig Morgan’s “Nothin’ Goin’ Wrong ‘Round Here,” Sunny Sweeney’s “One More Christmas Beer” and Gord Bamford’s “Leanin’ On A Lonesome Song.” To top it
all off, Owens also took home the “Songwriter of the Year” award at the 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards.
